Seat belts have much more to offer then safety, and are in many ways ideal for Airpaq. They come in various different designs/colors/patterns, they are extremely durable and are designed to feel comfortable. We use seat belts to create a unique woven design on the back of the Airpaq. By inserting an extra padding to the back we ensure a comfortable wearing experience. Our straps are made from padded seat belts with softened edges and finally, the subtly branded seat belt at the front gives your Airpaq a distinct element of design.*
Airbags are designed to perform in extreme situations, and for a job like this, nothing can be left to chance. The textiles used for airbags are therefore extremely durable (polyamide 6.6 or similar), making them ideal for producing quality backpacks. By using airbags from different cars/models/years we furthermore encounter a variety of material related characteristics. Examples are textile density/feeling, visible fissures, print-ons, barcodes or individual reactions to the dyeing process. We process airbags to either roll top, front/bottom part or handle.*
Buckle up, drive, unbuckle.. and then do it again. How many times have you used this mechanism? People use buckles completely unconsciously, and due to their incredible durability they can be used thousands of times, despite being exposed to breadcrumbs, soda or your morning coffee. We felt that they would serve fantastically as a closing mechanism on the Airpaq, and that's exactly where you will find them. We source various different looking buckles that all serve as great eye-catcher and subtly point to the up-cycled nature of your Airpaq.*
*Note that all materials sourced from scrapyards are not coming from cars involved into severe crashes and are furthermore anti-bacterlially washed at high temperatures (Buckles are cleaned and disinfected) to rule out any hygene related concerns.
