Made from upcycled airbags and seatbelts. Every piece in this limited collection directly supports the Modisa Wildlife Project – protecting 170 km² of Kalahari wilderness and the endangered lions that call it home.

One lion. One man. One mission to protect what’s left.

When Valentin Grüner found Sirga, she was a lion cub – abandoned, starving, and alone. His intention wasn’t to raise her as a tame lioness, it was to give her a chance to grow up wild as possible. Today, Sirga lives independently in a protected part of Modisa’s reserve. Sirga’s story represents what’s at stake: Africa is losing its wild places – and the animals that call them home.

True wilderness is disappearing – fast.

Since the 1950s, lion populations have dropped by over 90%. Fences cut through migration paths. Industrial farming replaces habitat. Even in Botswana, one of Africa’s last wild strongholds, nature is under pressure. Sirga is the result of this conflict. And unless we act, stories like hers will be all that’s left.

Modisa protects land, wildlife – and the future.

At the Modisa Wildlife Project, Valentin works with local communities to manage 170 km² of protected land in the Kalahari. The approach is holistic: conservation, education, employment. To fund this work, we’ve created something meaningful – a limited collection of bags made from upcycled airbags and seatbelts. Every bag supports Modisa directly – no middlemen, no overhead.

Built from purpose. Designed for impact.

Airpaq is a sustainable backpack brand from Germany. We transform airbags, seatbelts and car fabrics into long-lasting designs – upcycled, functional, and made in the EU under fair conditions. What started in a garage is now a community of conscious creators and everyday adventurers.

Your support helps keep the Kalahari wild.

When you buy a bag, you're helping protect one of Earth's last wild places. Your purchase funds the Modisa Wildlife Project – work that protects habitats, supports the people who live there, and builds a future where wildlife can roam free. We believe conservation works. And it starts with the choices we make.
