Our backpacks are more than just bags – they represent conscious consumption, high-quality materials, and responsible production in the EU. Instead of mass production, we focus on durability and upcycling to conserve resources and make true sustainability practical for everyday life.
High quality, but rejected
Safety systems like airbags, seat belts, and buckles are subject to extremely high standards because they must save lives in an emergency. This means that even unused materials are discarded for the slightest deviations. Good for safety – bad for the environment, because thousands of tons of high-quality materials end up in the trash every year or are recycled using immense amounts of energy.
New life for discarded materials
Why not rescue high-quality materials and give them a new purpose? We reimagine their original function as lifesavers, transforming airbags, seatbelt buckles, and seatbelts into unique backpacks and bags with creativity and precision. This results in designs that combine thoughtful functionality with genuine sustainability.

Every action taken with the environment in mind
Sustainability is integrated into every step of our production. We rely on water-saving processes, energy-efficient manufacturing using electricity from solar panels, and Oeko-Tex certified dyes. This results in durable products that conserve resources and demonstrate responsibility – right from the start.
Sustainable production in the EU – now more important than ever
By manufacturing in an EU member state, we commit ourselves to strict working time regulations, fair wages, and certified standards such as SA8000. Especially in times of global uncertainty and unfair production conditions outside Europe, we consciously focus on transparency, proximity, and social responsibility.
Certificates
Our sewing factory, 'Cottontex', in Timișoara is certified according to ISO 9001, SA 8000, and ISO 14001 and adheres to the Global Recycled Standard (GRS). Our dye works, 'Intercolor', uses Oeko-Tex certified dyes and complies with the EU chemicals regulation REACH. Furthermore, we are PETA-Approved Vegan, as we do not use any animal products.

We firmly believe that true sustainability can only be achieved through transparency. Therefore, we disclose as much information as possible about our processes and costs so that everyone can form their own opinion of us and our ambitions.
Transparent pricing
We want to give you a clear insight into how our product prices are calculated. Our pricing is based on the 2021 financial statements and reflects the quality and sustainability of our products. The attached graphic illustrates how the price of each Airpaq product is determined.
Circular return
A truly sustainable product considers more than just its use. That's why we look at the entire life cycle – from development to the end of the product's life. With our Circular Return program, we take back used products and give you a voucher for your next Airpaq product. This keeps sustainability in motion.
